Pantone Colour of the Year 2020: Classic Blue

The Pantone Color Institute has been choosing a colour of the year for two decades, to be precise since 2000. They make these
predictions by using various types of research and analysis, both from past and present trends. They gather inspiration from
multiple industries such as Fashion, Interior design, and of course, Graphic Design, which are all involved in the trend-forecasting
for the Pantone Colour of the Year.

Pantone Colour of the Year 2019: Living Coral

2019 had a bright shade of coral to lead it through the year, in fact our designer had chosen this gorgeous hue for one of our
clients to use in their logo, check it out on the Studioseven case study). After last year’s zesty coral and the interesting duo of Rose
Quartz (pale pink) and Serenity (pale blue) from 2016, Pantone has gone for a different approach for 2020. The company has
opted for a colour that represents: stability, calm, confidence, trust and connection. This can possibly be a choice to
represent our wants and needs throughout the year of 2020.

The PANTONE 19-4052 Classic Blue colour is a safe blue that is relatable to most and quite thought-provoking.

The company described it as the colour of the sky at dusk – not deep yet not light. Brighter than navy, and more distinguished than
a royal blue, it is elegant and democratic.
